If you click on the image, you might see the blue dust, which maily is created by "collectivos", the local buses. Not sure if the mass transport with such bad systems helps the environment. However, many people use it, the Subte (Metro) is not always reliable...

Fooding
What you actually dont see on this picture, is the demension! Well, the banana is normal size, I would say... So, lets take my hand as a messure. My hands are a bit above average long and this sandwhich is about 1.5 hands long, almost a "Elle", the "carne is a beef schnitzel, half a centimeter, but double, in egg and bread crumpel. There is a full egg and a half a tomato (tasting tomato!). Its 8 pesos, abotu 1.80 Euro, but you dont find that in the touristic areas...

Arrived in Buenos Aires
This is Victoria and me on the roof of her appartment block in BsAs Palermo Hollywood.
After about 20 hours traveling I arrived at Vicotria´s place. The flight was ok, I could even catch some hours of sleep. The cash machine would not like to give me any money at the airport, but that might be realted to the fact that some money machines are restricted. That come from the Argentiean crisis some years ago, when everybody took out all there cash and the bank system collapsed.
Well, I changed my Euro I had with me and therefore I fell into the very first tourist trap only half: My taxi driver tried to charged my 6 times the actual price and luckly I only had 3 times the cash with me, so he was "generous" enough to let me go.
Well, we cooked already and I had my first try of Argentinian Steak, which was really nice.
It´s about 35C here, but the appartment is really nice with aome wind going through. It was hotter last week and when it cools down later the day, I try a second time to get cash. And my German SIM Card is not working, I will get one as well.

Euro Van

Right, I now that many of you are worried what I will do after such a long period of traveling (Well, not sure if you were really worried but at least some people asked). And I just ran into a solution and got myself a new Euro Van. Ok ok, new only to me,..
It had only one or 7 pre-owners and was built in 1988. The engine is a... well,... there is no engine right now, but that makes it really cheap, you know?!
A friend of mine got it and knows somebody with a garage and by August 2009 it will be able to run. Well, that's the plan when back from my travel. So, don't worry anymore :)

Wiesbaden - TKK Insurance
After reading a lot in forums and talking to different people I belief I found a good solution (Thanks Jette!). I actually stay with the insurance I have always been in Germany. They insure me private for a week and give me than the option to become travel insured with their exclusive partner ENVIVAS. I don't have to be insured in Germany during my long term travel, as by law they have to take me back when I apply again for it when coming back. That's a saving of about 1300 Euro. The ENVIVAS cost 0,80 Euro per day, which makes it 135 Euro for 7 month! Plus: As an extra service TKK pays my 230 Euro vaccination costs, even the tropical ones :)
Uhhh... I belief I can do some shopping and get a new jacket :P

Wiesbaden, homebase
I get hosted in Hotel-Mum and feet well. Tuesday I went to a Couch Surfing Meeting in Mainz, and surprising half the people attending had been already in Latin America, most even for some month. So got some more tips :)

Berlin with Natascha

Natascha and me had a great week together in Berlin. Again, Berlin is such a great spot for food, what I really very much enjoy :)
Against all prophecies I got a return ticket for 879 Euro a week before departure. So, I will fly via London to Buenos Aires on Monday, the 26th Jan. 09
Anyway, we did as well a course in "free-climbing". That was really cool: Me on the picture having a hard time doing the "animal run" - see me suffer on the the seal and turtle one!? Well, Natascha did one or two 5+ routes without even once failing... :S
That weekend I got 4 or 5 vaccinations and spend 230 Euro on it, no wonder I am so week :P

got a ticket
Against all prophecies I got a open jaw flight for 879 Euro a week before departure, thanks to the low Sterling. So, this is my first benefit for quitting my job and travel in a recession.
I'll flight with British Airways via London to Buenos Aires on Monday, the 26th January 2009. My flight back to Frankfurt is booked for the 15th August 2009 from Mexico City.
Ahh! And Natascha got an alright prize to visit me in Panama. So another fixed date is the 2. April in Panama where we spend 3.5 weeks together :) It will be her birthday and that very day we'll snorkel in the Caribbean sea.

My new Apple Notebook
Last Pint tonight in Cork!
Hi lats,
Lately I was able to do some saving and decided now to spend it. So no working in 2009, and I'll travel Latin America.
I am leaving Cork tonight and was explained it's a bad reputation for Ireland if I would arrive at a different country from Ireland without a seriously bad hangover, like. Everybody who wants to join is welcomed. Mondays there is some live music in the Franciscan Well, I'll be there from 9pm. Hope to see some familiar faces around! Please forward if I have missed somebody (Mostly I mean Jason, to reach former teammates I am lately rarely in contact with,... if you could :) ?!)!
Thanks to all the people in Cork and in particular at Apple, I very much enjoyed my time.
I am sure I could write a lot and so, but I don't want to keep you up from work :)
Thanks for the cake, the shirt (I love it) and most to Detmar for that really nice speech on Friday. Wish you all the best and good luck whatever you do.
Sebastian

Last day at Apple

Today I have "cold feet". "Reise-Fieber" got me. During the week I got really stomach sick. It still feels in a far distance and somehow I might not have realized I am really doing this.
There are some people at Cork and at work that really got close to me and I now that most I will not see again. But that's how it is a nomadic. Well, Cork was the place I stayed longest outside of my childhood, so it is a good place to go and stay, I say.
