At the beginning I wanted to not even go into the city, than I told myself to stay a night or two,... and it happened to be a week. This city is really cool. Well, coll is not the right expresion as during the high season the climate is really tropical and hot.
The traffic is insane, it was the first time for me to see such a 12 mil. peolpe city, quite chaotic, noisy and dirty. I met many nice people, I went twice for Tango clases, the second was really nice with many people and 5 or 6 teachers. It was great when I started really leading and going with a flow in the music... love Tango now!
Interesting enough, most people doing Tango are Tourists or foreigners. It´s only popular for Argentinians who are older than 50.
However, prices really went up, there is quite an inflation and partly the prices were three times above those in my guide book. Trying to follow the locals helped already a bit, but the first week was just so much more expansive than I thought! First the taxi arse, than the 300 Pesos only at cash machines at once (which is about 70 Euro and I get charged each transaction 5 Euro!).
The food again is extremely good and again going of tourist track prices are at least half. And quilty doubles. I had been in Rome in November and the food was great. But here it has at least the some standard. Many people in Argentinia are acutally immigrants from Italy,... icecream is very good, too!
